Fraudulent Voices

There are times when you wonder -  at what point do you stop feeling like a poser…a fraud…a hypocrite?

You look at your feeble attempts at engaging in faith and you shake your head in bewilderment. You have heard the Word, read the Word, even proclaimed the Word over yourself and others, yet you continue to struggle with doubt and confusion.

You question whether your faith is strong enough…deep enough…authentic enough to arrest the thoughts that condemn you for your perceived failures and weakness. But how does one bring these loud and divisive elements of the mind into submission and ultimately into captivity?

You start by first identifying and recognizing the tenor of their sound. Their discordant, abrasive, accusing tones, along with the resulting cause and effect. You take note of the fact they have an underlying destructive bent - they deride…they demean…they denigrate.

In a word…they condemn!

Now, armed with this information you can now take aim at dismantling the barrage of lies that are directed against you. You are now better equipped and authorized to not only identify the source, but appropriate your God-given value and rights.

The enemy, does not want you to be aware of your Blood-bought potential in Christ and will always seek to subsume you with confusion and doubt in order to keep you mired in what-if’s and if-only's. His tactics are always the same - keeping you devoid of hope and encouragement, while preventing you from offering honour and praise to God.

Now contrast this with the timbre of God's voice...there is no shouting, accusing, shaming, or reasons given for self-recrimination.

In fact...

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” ~ Romans 8:1 NKJV

Understanding these differences encourages and equips us in our struggle for clarity and meaning. Hold fast to the truth of His Word and His immeasurable Love for you.

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed”. ~ II Corinthians 4:7-9 NKJV
